Before You Read The Blog

Call us old schoolIpso facto-obsolete.  Call us old-fashioned.

Thank-you very much. We'll take that as a compliment.  In a world full of Get-rich-quick schemes, promises of abundant wealth with little skill, effort or time required. One thing never changes:  In the long run, the turtle will still win over the rabbit. The magic of compounded interest still prevails. The slowly but surely is still more dependable.  And what we reap,  we will sow.

In so many ways, this is what this blog is all about.  Using timeless principles.  Going back to our roots. Looking for patterns. Learning from the lessons of the past. We do this in order to do one thing, and one thing alone,in hopes of a better understanding of the Reno-Sparks Real Estate.

This blog is for those who want to know the Reno-Sparks market just a little bit better and who is willing to spend a little bit of her time in order to make the best possible decision in taking on,probably, the biggest financial commitment she will ever have in her life- her home.  It is, if you think about it. (The Median price of homes for the U.S  is $213,900 and $292,225 for the Greater Reno-Sparks)

The best way we know on how to go about this is to learn from the history of our Real Estate market- Its Peaks and its valleys, its highs and its lows.  Then we Study it.  We Learn from it and we Ask the right questions in order to get the right answers: How did the Reno-Sparks real estate market behave before the phenomenal increase from 2003-2005? When did it top? What caused its fall?

We believe that studying the Real Estate market is not as complicated as most of you might think. And yes, it will require a little bit of your time, but it will be worth it. Just like when you were studying for that do or die final exam back in high school.   It is the same here. But in many ways the stakes are much bigger.

Our goal is to make the learning “User-friendly” , The last thing we want to happen is for you to go out of this site even more confused about the real estate market. (if you are, do call Ian Mariano as soon as possible: 775-338-7649 he'll help you out)

A Brief History

Like many of you, we like to dream. When we entered the Real Estate Business a couple of  years ago, our dream was to be one of the top Real Estate agents in

Northern Nevada.

We were young and inspired and wanted to take on the world of Real Estate and become the best that we can be. And so we did.

In 2005, Joe was named Entrepreneur Realty Rookie of the Year, being in the top three in the company in homes and volume sold.

In 2006, Joe’s third year in the business and at the birth of arguably, the worst Real Estate Market since the Great Depression-  we were ranked in the *Top 50 among 2,500 Real Estate agents (*in homes sold, Joe was tied with a couple of other agents)  That same year as a strong buyer’s agent he sold more than 50% of his own listings.  We were  quite happy about that.  But not for long.

The Problem with that dream is there's not a whole lot of a bigger picture, something bigger than ourselves.

So we are blazing a new trail.  We are ascending a new mountain.  It is the Mt. Everest of our State.  *In the first quarter of 2007, Nevada had the highest

foreclosure rate in the U.S . One foreclosure filing for every 75 households- 3.5 times the national average (*Realty times)

It shouldn't be that way. We shouldn't be the number one State in number of foreclosures.

We can't let this happen the second time. Not in our turf.  We have seen far too many  people we know greatly affected by this.

We couldn’t help but ask ourselves, “What if all those people who are going into foreclosure took aside an hour of their precious time, just an hour, to really know what they were getting into. What would have been the difference? Was there even a way or place where they could've studied the Real Estate market? and if they were looking for someone for an objective advice on what to do, was anybody available?

That is why this blog exists. That is our dream and our goal- To be a source of relevant information for  people who wants to know The Reno-Sparks Real estate market just a little bit better. Thereby, Helping you make the better decision.

But here is the clincher. We need you. We need your honest feedbacks. Your Comments.  If a particular information helped you, please let us know. We need productive arguments that will lead us to a better understanding of the subject matter. If you have an article or words to share that you think will help people, send it to us.

We cannot succeed without these things.

Started to read the "Before you read the blog" page, but got stopped at about the second line. Should be spelled compliment, not complement. Sorry to be nit-picky, but seriously - it turned me off from reading the rest. Feel free to delete this comment if you want...

Turi,

I appreciate the criticism. It has been corrected.
